There's also the problem of LEGO working differently in different countries.
One example of this is the ranges they allow for each country. Another is
the differing numbering for the same sets [eg 4801/4811]. Further, they have
different 'clubs' in different regions. As has previously been commented on,
the lego site is predominantly American in design and seems to cater mainly
to this market. It could therefor be that they have a different set of
'rules' for different countries.
And just to stir things [as well as to satisfy my curiosity]...
Kevin, How do you define currently available? Is it
1) sets no longer produced [world cup, shell, and Tine truck instructions
went up while they were still available]
2) sets not available in the US [descriminates against collectors in
countries where a limited range is available]
3) no sets after a certain year [having sets released last year means that
the rest of last years range should also be up] [and how do catalogues fit
in?]
4) some other set of rules

| (...) It's simple: d [ 0,1,2...n ] ^ (-i * pieces) a = ---...--- where mood != 0 and year > 1932 dt (year - 1932) (mood ^ 3) Actually, it's more like: a = regular_retail_assortment? * f(y) * kl_discretion where f(y) = 0 if (calendar_year - (...) (25 years ago, 14-Apr-00, to lugnet.general)
