Frank,

Thanks, I should have been more careful with my words. You guessed
correctly. I didn''t mean the race car. I was wondering about the baseplate.
I was looking at the pictures and I thought that the 4x6 center section had
a dropped center like the old car plates[1], dropped in the middle as
compared to the sides. So, I was wondering how long that dopped part was. If
it was 5 or 6 long then a two seater would be a sinch, but if it was 4 long
then the minifigs would be a bit cramped for space. I have been in car
building mode and I have been looking for a way to make a nice two seater,
so I was looking for confirmation of the trough length.

Thanks,
Chris

I was wondering if these cars can hold two minifigs?

Not the way they are built, but you could probably use that frame to
make a two seater. From the picture on Pause of 6467, you can easily see
the way the cockpit is constructed:

+-----------+
|o o o o o o|
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
|o| |   | |o  |
| |w|   |b|  s|
|o| |   | |o  |
+-+---------+-+
|o o o o o o|
+-----------+

The piece marked w is the steering wheel.
The piece marked b is the 1x2 tile w/raised bar seatback
The piece marked s is a 2x2 medium slope
