After Pat´s successful Star Wars contest, I would like to announce a follow-up
contest. To make the contest an interesting sequel to Pat´s design contest, I
have decided to create some new categories while dropping some old:
Best never build before model: means all SW-vehicles/ships etc that havn´t
been build out of LEGO yet. Excpetion is the MTT (as it is an official TLG
product) and CAD-models. Possible entries would be: MTT, Bespin Cloud Car,
Dash Rendars Outrider, Jabba the Hutt´s Palace or whatever you havn´t seen yet.
Best modified 7190 Millenium Falcon: ok, everyone is complaining about the
official set. Colors, details, cockpit, interior…you can change or add
anything you like or think would fit, but it should be an improved/modified
version of the 7190. Largescale or model team versions will not count.
Best CAD model:  I hope to see many entrys here :)
Best  Star Wars Scene: build your favourite scene of the movies ! This could
be a real fun category as well as the most creativ.
Best Website (featuring SW-LEGO models): many of the models I have seen on the
web are of excellent design, but also their websites are made with love for
details, design and fun. This category pays credit to all of you who make the
net interesting and getting me addicted…
Best overall model: this category contains all entries and will feature the
best design of a SWmodel or scene in 2000.

Categories (again)
Best never build before model
Best modification of the 7190 Millenium Falcon
Best CAD Model
Best Star Wars Scene
Best Website
Best build overall model

How to enter
The contest is free. Anyone, any age is welcome to enter the contest. You can
send me pictures of your model via email or point me to your website. You can
send in ldraw dat-files or pov-ray pictures. If you don’t have a scanner or
digicam, I will be happy to help you scanning your photos.

How to Vote
Every contest paticipant can vote via email. I will accept her/his vote by the
email address.  For non-participants of the contest it will be possible to
vote via a normal postcard. This way I won´t get flooded with emails and might
get some nice postcards ;)

Ending Date
As I want to wait until the Millenium Falcon is released in Europe adding some
time to give people the chance to modify, the end will be somewhere in
november. Final date tba.

And of course the prizes:
Every category-winner will get a prize. To make this contest interesting I
will try to get interesting prizes as well: promotional LEGO sets,  hard to
find/old sets, LEGO goodies and a special prize for the overall winner.
Special banners, awards, trophys will be designed for first, second and third
place of each category that can be added to your website. As I am working on
the contest site, there will be a photo gallery of the prizes you can win.

Website
There will be a website up soon, specially designed for the contest. The site
will change and grow as the contest is going on. However I will try not to
create dead-links. If someone is interested helping me with a cgi/pearl  (?)
based dynamic webpage, you are very welcome to join the team.

Final Thougths
This is just an first announcement of the forthcomming contest, as the website
is not up yet. Any questions, suggestions, critics and help are welcome. I am
also open to include more categories. The ones I have choosen should point the
contest into some new directions, so we will see (hopefully) many new models.

Let me know what yousa thinks,

Ralph –dö- Döring
