I heard a discussion about this on Radio 5 yesterday. The whole thing is a sham I
think: Leading toy retailers get together and make up awards at a quiet time of the
year to boost sales. The opinion of the public or kids was not considered... only
toy retailers.
They did mention that there was a poll in the web somewhere doing the same thing,
but did not give the URL

| Acording to METRO here in London ,UK. Lego(R) has been voted toy of the century by a leading associaton of toy reatilers. The article also claimed that Lego was invented in 1932 and introduced to britan in 1955. Alex (25 years ago, 31-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)
