At the risk of being pilloried, (but I gotta know),
would you consider selling the clock (or a clock)?
[ok, so that is really two, quite different questions]

Actually the real question I had in mind was...
had you thought about putting it up for auction?

I have a hidden agenda with these questions, but it relates
to the "value of art" problem.  I certainly would consider your
work "art", by any definition.  I have always had a problem with
"selling" paintings/sculpture/graphics work, i.e. in assigning a
price.  An auction seems the "easiest" way for me... let the
customer set the price.

I would love to see what the "selling" price for your clock would end up at.
(I would love to have it myself, but cannot at the moment afford what I
think it's worth. )
I bet you could build several more creations, and make someone very happy.

I normally wouldn't be bold enough to ask, but I was discussing the subject
today
with several people at school, while we drooled over your work, and we all
really
wondered.  (Each secretly/greedily dreaming, that you would sell it far
cheaper
than what we thought fair...)

interested in your thoughts,
:?) bishop

I do not take any of my sculptures apart, no.

eric

BTW, you're not planning to take your clock apart to supply pieces
for your future sculptures, are you?

John

(...) The easiest way for me to answer this would that I would certainly consider making another clock (or any other sculpture) for a commission. You are right, the cost would be high... not only to cover the bricks, but just for the time involved (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
