Whoo hoo! One fo my very favorite debates has reared up again! And it's only
been a week or so!

You really can't tell people not to be "obscene", "vulgar" "profane" or
"indecent" and expect them to follow those instructions exactly unless they
have been very well coached to know what is "obscene", "vulgar", "profane", and
"indecent" to you. Everyday in the news there is an art exhibit that a great
many people feel is all of the above. A crucifix submerged in a jar of urine
or a Madonna with feces for nipples come to mind.

Now, we can, for the most part, tone it down here. Some will still be offended
by even the littlest things. Acronymns are stretching the limit, but honestly-
do we need to post about it? These @$#%^ are probably ok for most folks as
well. I even think "big-ass" is ok. ("Ass" for all you kids under the age of
thirty, used to be a vulgar word during the last generation)

I guess, there are three ways to look at it:

1. It's "obscene", "vulgar", "profane", and "indecent" if one person feels it
is and should not be posted to LUGNET.

2. It's only "obscene", "vulgar", "profane", and "indecent" if it ruffles a
LOT of feathers.

3. It's "obscene", "vulgar", "profane", and "indecent" when Todd says it is.

Just post what you think. Don't try to upset people on purpose. Don't get so
upset if someone is not as well spoken as you are.

Chris
