the contest is to design 2 things:
1.an imperial tie fighter pilot. You create your own designs (or use a
TLG one)
for the helment, head and torso. the head must be yellow with only one
color
of printing. the torso must be in a color TLG currently makes minifig
torsos
the hands can be in any color TLG currently makes them. ditto with the
arms and
legs. There should not be a need for any other minifig parts but if
there is
then they have to be parts TLG currently makes
2.a tie fighter to go with him. The only rules are that all pieces must
be
pieces currently produced by TLG and that the set (including the
minifig) must
be a reasonable cost for a set of this type (use other sets to estimate
the cost)
and also that it must be something that LF would be likely to accept.
Why all the rules? Because the contest is to design a TIE fighter that
the penny
watching TLG would be likely to come up with. Look at the B-Wing. almost
no new
parts or existing parts in new colors. About the only "new" parts in the
set are
the minifig parts. same with the A-Wing. only new parts of note there
are the
red engines and mabie the pilot. most of the 2000 starwars sets are like
this.
Overall think about what TLG would do and not what you would like them
to do.
They ideally should use black starwars wings for the solar panels but I
doubt
that they would, prefering to use the smaller old space type wings in
pairs or
something. You will also need to pick an (as yet) unused set # in the
starwars
set # range and also come up with a TLG-like name for the set.
