Re: Modularity of LEGO (was Re: LEGOs (sic) make an appearance at ExtremeTech

(...) If only programming was as easy as building with Lego :-). Steve (22 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, lugnet.build, FTX)

Modularity of LEGO (was Re: LEGOs (sic) make an appearance at ExtremeTech

(...) (snip) (...) It's a pet peeve of mine to insist that the analogy of modular programs to LEGO parts is overrated and underrated at the same time. Every so often this analogy pops up in tech articles on modular software engineering, without (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, lugnet.build, FTX)

  What is this thing??????

Would anyone happen to know what the heck this thing is? It fits perfectly on a minifigs body but I doubt its LEGO. There are no markings on it at all and has a terrible paint job. (3 URLs) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

  It's autumn at Halcyon Castle

It's fall now in Ikros. The leaves are turning and the fields are being reaped. Queen Alyia has just overseen final construction of the new castle at Lake Halcyon. During her father Ulmerad's rule over Ikros, the original Halcyon Castle was (...) (22 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.org.us.texlug, FTX) !!

LEGOs (sic) make an appearance at ExtremeTech

I was just reading a new article at (URL) (article url: (URL) ) about modularity of computer components, how things should be easier to assemble yourself, etc. Article uses Lego as the example of modularity (a good analogy, I think). But, the thing (...) (22 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Server installation photos

(...) We went through 12 pounds of pizza, 4 liters of Coke, 3 pots of coffee, 15 Odwalla bars, almost 300 pounds of DinoSnaps, and over 1800 pounds of ferns, moss, and horsetail rushes! --Todd (22 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Brickshelf Viewer

(...) Are humans visiting Brickshelf and displaying the site in Netscape 1-4? Does this level of usage of Netscape 1-4 in displaying Brickshelf make the support of Netscape 1-4 in designing the viewer experience of Brickshelf necessary? Does (...)   Re: Brickshelf Viewer

(...) I had trouble parsing this sentence. Would you consider restating it, perhaps as several sentences with less convoluted sentence structure? Clearly, it's a point you'd like to make, but I am not yet getting what point it is. Thanks. (22 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Brickshelf Viewer

(...) I think the comment "does not work in Netscape 4.x (and probably other legacy browsers)" is funny and sad at the same time. Frankly, that Brickshelf currently works in Netscape 4 (and be honest, it works in Netscape 3, 2, and 1, as well, where (...) (22 years ago, 11-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)
