Re: New trans-color in #4808 High Flyers

(...) I just bought my first of the current US$20 1000 piece blue tub. It has 8 1x2 bricks in a new grayish trans-light blue as opposed to the older greenish trans-light blue. I like the newer trans-light blue much better. (maybe that is (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Constructive criticism vs. sugar coating

(Speaking of sugar coating... After reading through this post again I can see that there's bits in here to offend probably every single person who reads it. What can I say? I can only advise the casual reader that if you find yourself strongly (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) I don't give people the full art-school style firm, no-nonsense critique - which I'm perfectly capable of doing, having come up through the Long Beach State illustration program and have had as many as 10 artists working for me on software (...)   New trans-color in #4808 High Flyers

Hey all, I just noticed yesterday when I was sorting out the two of these I bought that the little windscreens are a different shade of trans-light blue. It seems to be a sort of trans-electric blue. Haven't tested it with a blacklight yet. Anyone (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

The "LUGNET community" vs. the "LEGO community," and computer literacy

(...) Hi Michael - (...) Not at all! In fact, I think as this thread continues, we're getting better and better responses, getting down to the meat of things. (...) There are many LEGO fans which fit that description. More than half of my train club (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

Re: Lifetime of incandescent 9v LEGO lights?

Todd, I only recently discovered the 9V "Light & Sound" system and have been thinking about that question myself. I've been acquiring used 9V lights recently and some bulbs do seem dimmer than others. But I don't know what the life expectancy is. It (...)   A Three Year Old Lego Purist

My wife called me a work yesterday to tell me that our 3-year old son, Max, wanted to throw away one of his bricks. He was building a tower - carefully selecting each brick. My wife noticed that he got up, went into the kitchen and put something in (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general) !!

Re: Constructive criticism vs. sugar coating (was: Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community)

(...) Hi Tim, I've been reading this post with fascination and hope I'm not replying too late. First, thanks for bringing up such an interesting topic! For me, LUGNET is a great way to catch up on Lego-related news, and I consider myself a member of (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

  Re: how odd!!!!

(...) Those certainly are strange! My first thought is that they might be what some of my friends call "hand moulds". Apparently when Lego creates/gets a new mould, they test it in something other than a full-blown production machine. Probably at a (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: LEGO Color Reference

(...) Hi Todd, I'd love to get a hold of the color .inc files you used, they look awesome! Could you make them available? I didn't see any posts in cad. Thanks, Gary (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.general)

Constructive criticism vs. sugar coating (was: Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community)

Hi Mike - Great comments! (...) Yep. I think it's not too cool when people are afraid to post constructive criticism. I think though, people only get upset at posters when they say something blatantly negative about a model - which discourages (...)   Just a few questions to liven up .harrypotter

Hi all, After my family and I bought and watched HP:COS, my sister and I asked each other a few questions regarding the movie. Here are some of them. Feel free to state yours. NOTE: I'm referring to the two movies, not the four books. 1) Who is your (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.general)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) My personal feeling is that there are some unwritten rules that strongly *discourage* talking about a LEGO model that someone posts. I certainly have the impression that no matter how well-intentioned, if there is a single sentence in a (...) (22 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.fun.community)

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

Re: Quantifying and Classifying the LEGO Community

(...) From someone whose interest has waned... Lugnet and the clubs that have formed through meeting here have a collective personality, for better or worse.   Lifetime of incandescent 9v LEGO lights?
