Hi all,
The GLUG contingent has returned from GenCon 2003. We are tired but wiser. I
probably have more time than most considering everyone else is preparing for
BrickFest 2003. But I, on the other hand, get to work.
I am uploading the last of the pictures to BrickShelf as I write.
They will be in three directories BrikWars, ESPG, and Pirate Wars
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=51627
or search for Gencon2003.
I had a blast. I enjoyed meeting all the people I only knew from the newsgroups
and Brickshelf, I wasn't disappointed and now I can understand why people are so
dedicated and driven to make it to Brickfest, NWBC, BricksWest, and other
destinations. Everyone was dedicated to making sure the players had a good time
and from all the smiles, laughter, and noise, I do believe they did.
We had an excellent location in the middle of the miniatures hall so passers-by
couldn't help but notice us. Many people were talking that they had
castle/pirate/space in their closet and would dig it out when they got home. I
can only hope. More participation means bigger events.
Everyone worked extremely hard to put on a good display and games so by Sunday
we were all tired and ready to go home. I can't speak for the others but the
thoughts of scury dog pirates battling it out will make work tolerable for a
little while longer.
I am working on write-ups of the games to be included in the galleries and I
will send info to Mike Rayhawk to be included in the BrikWars writeup section.
James
