I forgot to ask everyone if they would allow me to publish their efforts here -
ooops, so here (after permission sought) is Anders Isaksson's entry :)
The background to this is his entire family (five of them) had spent most of
Christmas in bed with the flu...
Santa was gen'rous to us this year,
we all got plenty, both fever and fear.
I'd been much happier, had he been mean
and given us presents without so much sheen.
As I opened my eyes on Christmas Day
I heard my dear wife say "Ey,
I cad dot oped by eyes a bit.
If I'd beed Egglish, I bight hab said sh..!"
The kids have been sneezing, and coughing in choir
and so have their loving Mother and Sire.
But now they are up and running all 'round
while I am still here, in beddings bound.
If this keeps going for just a few days
I'll meet the millenium in the gray haze
of headaches and sneezes and bed-ridden ways,
instead of a party at somebody's place.
