There's a few budding writers here that might be excited by this:

It's National Novel Writing Month. With the encouragement and humor of
NaNoWriMo you will successfully write your first crappy novel this month -- but
hurry, you need nearly 2,000 words per day.
Excerpt from the FAQ:
If I'm just writing 50,000 words of crap, why bother? Why not just write a real
novel later, when I have more time?
There are three reasons.
1) If you don't do it now, you probably never will....
2) Aiming low is the best way to succeed....
3) Art for art's sake does wonderful things to you....
-------
So check out how YOU can become a bona fide novelist by month's end.
