Today is the LAST DAY to register for BricksWest 2003!
If you've been thinking of whether or not to attend all week, today is the
day to decide. Don't pass on this and miss out on all the fun!
Remember, BricksWest is run by volunteers as a non-profit event...your
registration fee only covers your estimated share of the costs involved in
running the event. In the event that pre-registration does not meet our
goals, we may have to begin altering or cancelling portions of the event to
lower the costs to be shared amongst the attendees.
To register, please head to http://www.brickswest.com/register.html now. You
may pay by credit card or PayPal balance via PayPal, or by check or money
order via mail-in registration.
Here's a short list of some of the great stuff the event volunteers and
sponsors have planned (this is the fun you'll be missing if you don't register):
THE FIRST EVER IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER TIMED BUILD COMPETITION
Be one of the 20 extreme builders to set the very first group build record
for assembing a 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer fresh out of the box!
LOUNGE LIZARD KARAOKE AND LAS VEGAS BUFFET - OUR BRICKSWEST 2003 SPECIAL
DINNER EVENT AND BRICKS™ MAGAZINE OFFICIAL LAUNCH PARTY
Can you come up with LEGO lyrics for *your* favorite songs? Even if you
can't, come join the fun as we dine together and share in singing and
community announcements before BrickMedia™ unveils Bricks Magazine, and
before the keynote address by Brad Justus of LEGO Direct.
ANIMATION FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION
The BricksWest 2003 Animation Festival was created to showcase the hard work
of LEGO Fans in stop-motion animation. The competition side of the festival
was created in order to reward LEGO fans for their time, effort and
creativity. It is hoped that the BricksWest 2003 Animation Festival will
exemplify the best practices of animation and will showcase some of the best
examples of what people can do with a little imagination and a few LEGO Bricks.
PUBLIC EXPO AT LEGOLAND® CALIFORNIA
Once again in 2003, attendees of BricksWest have been afforded the exclusive
opportunity to display their own LEGO models inside the LEGOLAND® California
theme park's Grand Pavilion venue! This year, we will be holding the public
expo during limited hours, from 11:00AM to 4:00PM on Saturday, February 15
and Sunday, February 16 only. Attendees have access to the Pavilion during
park hours during all four days of BricksWest*. So no attendee will miss any
part of the conference, no BricksWest sessions will take place at the
Windmill venue during the public expo hours.
ROBOTICS COMPETITION AND CONFERENCE SESSIONS
Participate in BrickHeap Wars, Off-Road RC Racing, or RCX Drag Racing, and
enjoy a wide range of Robotics-themed conference sessions at the event. See
http://www.brickswest.com/competitions.html for details.
TRAINS!
Enjoy informative LEGO Trains sessions such as The Making of a
Multi-Dimensional Train Layout, Design Study: Trains SNOT and More, Design
Study: New Track Geometry, and Beyond LDraw: The Making of a Train
Instruction Book, Show & Tell History of LEGO Trains, and the Trains roundtable!
LDRAW TOPICS
Experts in LDraw-based 3D LEGO modeling as well as representatives from
LDraw.org will be on hand to teach you how to use the array of LDraw tools
and answer your questions. See
http://www.ldraw.org/news/2003-01-14-brickswest-announce for details on the
sessions LDraw.org is sponsoring.
BUY/SELL/TRADE AND K8 TRADING

money for purchases. See http://www.brickswest.com/bstk8.html for details on
these sessions.
...AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
Other sessions include topics such as sculpture, detailing in LEGO, LEGO
animation, and gaming. But that's not all, see
http://www.brickswest.com/schedule.html for the full event schedule, and see
http://www.brickswest.com for other event details.
Again, to register, please head to http://www.brickswest.com/register.html
