After a week of voting, the moon base competition has finally come to an end.
On behalf of the LEGO Group, I would like to thank all the designers who took
the time and effort to enter. Id also like to thank the fans for their
comments and positive reaction to this endeavor.
On account of the overwhelming response to two of the entries, I am happy to
announce that both designers will be joining fans at this years BrickFest!
Congratulations are in order to Play Themes Designer Tim Ainley and Creator
Designer Jamie Berard. Tim created the Squidman Module along with its
Oscar-caliber video presentation. Jamie brought a blast from the past right
into the future with his Hungry, Hungry Space Hippos.
Hailing from Manchester, UK, Tims been with the LEGO Group for almost a year.
His first products are due to be released early 2007 for a new Play Themes line
which has yet to be publicly announced. This will be Tims first BrickFest.
An Adult LEGO Fan from the Boston area-turned LEGO Designer, Jamie has worked on
products for CREATOR, LEGO Direct, Creative Building and LEGO Promotions. His
first products are due out in early 2007. Jamie will also be giving a
presentation this year at BrickFest called Stressing the Elements.
Again, many thanks to all who contributed to the success of this competition. I
look forward to meeting many of you at BrickFest.
Play Well!
Jamie Berard
