The staff of BrickFest is happy to announce the following contest for
attendees:
LEGO Builders Are Invited to Help Re-Build New Orleans in a LEGO® Building
Challenge for Adult Enthusiasts
In the wake of the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the LEGO Builders of
Tomorrow campaign has put out a call to action asking children across the
country to donate a LEGO brick and their idea (photo, drawing, story) of what
they think a rebuilt New Orleans should include. All of the bricks collected
will be matched by LEGO Group, then donated to New Orleans area schools whose
creative resources were devastated by the hurricane. From the ideas children
submit, a piece of LEGO art work will be created by LEGO Certified Professional,
Nathan Sawaya, and donated to the city as a permanent piece of public art in New
Orleans. We are now challenging you, our community of enthusiasts, to
build a LEGO model to showcase design and craftsmanship in honor of the city of
New Orleans. Participants must register their intent to participate in the
contest by completing and submitting an entry form (available via
e-mail to admin@brickjournal.com). Completed
