Yeah, I'm figuring on 10 hours, maybe I'll get lucky and make some good
time. I'm leaving Atlanta around 4am, need to get out of town before the
morning rush hour gets started, and I want to get to the fest before the
D.C. rush hour gets going. If it's anything like friday afternoons in
Atlanta I don't want to be in a strange place stuck in bumper to bumper
traffic.

If my math is right you will be driving through Greensboro (the I-40/I-85
merge) during rush hour.  While rush hour in Greensboro is certainly not on
the scale of Atlanta or DC (IMHO Atlanta is worse than DC), it may slow you
down a bit.  NCDOT has improved the road between Greensboro and Durham
considerably but things still back up from time to time.  Once you are past
Burlington you should have smooth sailing until you hit I-95.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. Hopefully Friday morning traffic in Greensboro is much like it is here, for some reason it's not real bad in the morning, it's the afternoon on Friday's that are a bear. jt -- James J.
