An independent update...
Nik really had a blast at the mini ESPG that Jason ran on Saturday at the
MichLUG meeting, and he's been building stuff like mad. We sorted that big bin
of random parts that we had at GenCon and we will be bringing stuff to BF for
Pirate... Here's what we have so far:
- three existing ships from GenCon (big merchant pig: (wide, one center),
Imperial warship (narrow, 1 center) and collier ("other front", about the size
of a narrow one center ship) )
- New class 2 (narrow, no center) ship, it currently has 2 cannon
- "Shipwright's Island" a pair of islands, one wildlife rich, one with a small
base fitted out to repair small ships, connected by a rope bridge).
- "Elephant Island" - a bog, ruined temple and all, with an elephant, and a
balloon.
(Frank I will get with you offline on suggestions about running these islands)
- 2 other small islands
- the two islands we had from Gencon
- castaways raft (made from a pair of the largest doors!) with sail... this may
be fun to run as a moving raft with sailors on board that could be crew, rather
than an island per se...
I made sails for all the ships, and the raft, from some cream colored denim I
bought. These sails do not work very well, the denim frays. But they're good
enough for BF.
I probably won't be playing due to Train coordination duties but Nik is totally
pumped.

| (...) Bad dog! (...) I have never come close to using class 7 ships in the game. I would like to at some point, but it's unlikely. More on this below. Additionally, class 8 doesn't have a standard record sheet for it. (...) Remember a class 2 ship (...) (21 years ago, 4-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
