In response to my previous issue of having incomplete interiors in the Moonbases
I am bringing to BF, I introduce...

McFender & Droid Contracting: Specializing in Modular Lunar Construction.

Good old Isaac "Ike" McFender and his replicant Junior have been in the
construction trade since the early days of space colonization.  Recently, Ike
built a few copies of Junior to keep up with the busy Moonbase building
industry...

In this rare and grainy shot for a local newspaper, Ike and his droid pose in
front of their hovertruck.  Most of the time, they are too busy for this sort of
standing around.

Junior gets to work unloading the hovertruck:

The access to the rear platform on the truck has a force-field that can be
activated when the airlock is open to a Moonbase interior.

The hovertruck docked to a Moonbase Module:

A lot of stuff in the background of this image makes it hard to realize that the
entire weight of the hovertruck is on the connecting corridor.

Overhead views of the hovertruck:

The cockpit is one brick down from the center work area.  The work area has
enough room for the airlock door to swing fully open, as well as storage for
those much needed tools.

McFender's other droids start work on a Moonbase interior:

Each of the droids has a data-card that contains programing on whatever type of
construction is being done.  In this case, they have been given cards for a high
density living area.

Some views of the hovertruck:

Ike started his business with a small hoverplatform that he has since modified
many times to meet his needs.  It isn't the prettiest vehicle in space, but it
has enough room for his droid and his tools.  What else does a man need?

(...) Galactic Mediator Hendo, Wow, you act fast, but then again we are down to the wire. This is great stuff. Clever design and execution. The truck sure reads as a handyman's vehicle of choice. And it even docks four studs off! I like your handle (...) (21 years ago, 3-Aug-03, to lugnet.space)
