Holy cow. Stop criticizing the work of others. The BrickFair people and Joe
are our brothers (and sisters?) in the AFOL community. I want them to succeed. Were
not in competition with each other, folks.

Back in the good ole BricksWest days, (before the brick burglar ran away with
everones money) one thing that was learned very quickly was simply stop
listening to the criticism. In order to succeed in this community you need to
get a handful of strong supportive members, and proceed with whatever you have
planned. People will attend or not based on the quality of your event.
Joe put out a free online publication that far exceeded expectations; the
quality of his work is no longer in doubt, what is in question is whether or not
you value his work enough to pay for it in print form. I think we will come out
en mass, but that is just a prediction.
My advice, take it for what its worth, is proceed boldly, ignore the whiners,
and let the chips fall where they may. This community has a long tradition of
resisting change, only to embrace it later. Good luck with your event.

| Man, I can't believe the stuff that's going on. Somebody (BrickFair) is not revealing enough about money, and somebody is else watching out to make sure nobody gets rich off organizing an AFOL event (a hilarious concept to anybody of us who have (...)
