Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) Mmmmm - Rachael and I have been toying with the idea of a California vacation later this year. A trip to Legoland seemed like a sure thing before, but if there were a Brickfest to attend it would definitely be a sure thing. Been too busy (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) Yeah...that's kinda' what I figured. Two events COULD be held concurrently...that MIGHT be cool (or could hurt either ones attendance..I dunno'...) More thoughts: -I see this as an event sponsored by more than one LUG, encompassing the entire (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) This will probably have to be the case. I suppose we will have to create a Brickfest Northwest for those of us who are unable to go all the way to Southern California. I had a lot of fun going to LLC in April, but it's much too far to drive, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) <snip> (...) a mix between clever and silly, but a good idea. (...) True, but Legoland is so nice at night with all of miniland lit up, so different than during the day (see below) (...) Carlsbad makes the most sense, I mean Legoland IS there, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.org.us.lugola)

  Re: August Surprise...

Kevin & All, (...) Definate possibility. That is too bad, I would have loved seeing either the 6399 or 6990 monorail come back. Those would have been ideal. Well, I hope maybe they can pull our the straight monorail mold and maybe make a 10 pack or (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

  Re: August Surprise...

(...) Nooo...ooo! I want monorail! --Kyle (Totally bummed out that the motors are all gone ;-( ) PS who needs motors? Just give us track!! (URL) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

Hey all, I have been kicking this idea around myself, especially since the mech builders who didn't make it to BrickFest were so jazzed about attending BrickFest next year. I even solicited a few e-mail responses about it. Here are some of my ideas: (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

  Re: August Surprise...

He diddn't say they lost the dies for the track, he said they couldn't make the motors anymore. Maybe the company that supplied the parts went out of business? KL (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego Direct Q&A about to start at BrickFest

(...) I am. That's why I'm surprised it's being examined. I personally wouldn't expect LEGO to revisit track geometry until the molds reached retirement. (If they even did so then.) Hunh. I'll leave further speculatin' to people more train-savvy, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) I really wish that someone could organize something in a more central location. A place where people from a very large area would be able to make the drive if they wanted to attend. Being in Colorado, I am partial to a location like Denver, (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

"Larry Pieniazek" <lpieniazek@mercator.com> wrote in message news:GGH67r.3ps@lugnet.com... (...) My speculation is that the doors and 1x2x2 panels (in the Club Car) with the red, white, and blue stripes will be decals instead of being printed as (...) (...) This is the internet age. Dan Boger shot digital pics of the cover art (which is huge), uploaded them to his linux laptop and updated the DB *from brickfest* all within about 20 min... ++Lar (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

To All, (...) How in the world did the LUGNET database get updated this quickly? They are already there, the 10001 and 10002. Hats off the to LD, I think this is a great move. Let's see now, there is a castle legend set,a train legend set, and now (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

Re: Lego Direct Q&A about to start at BrickFest

(...) I have no new info to offer... geometry was mentioned at the january summit as you know. Think about the tooling costs of something as large as a turnout, though! (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: August Surprise...

I think you should have posted to the California groups too ;-) I'd be interested in traveling up to WA for a large meeting.   Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) I am *so* there. Anything I can feasably drive to gets my vote, and Seattle is a feasable drive from Edmonton. (at least, compared to D.C.!) James "has a different idea of reasonable drive than most" Brown (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)

Re: How about a Brickfest West?

(...) <snip> I think this sounds like a darn fine idea. Can anyone involved with Brickfest either post some pointers, or just email me with your thoughts and what kinds of efforts are involved? ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 14-Jul-01, to lugnet.events)
