Are Duplo building plates hard to come by ? I have one up on eBay (not

Hi Ray,

Well, it depends on what color and size it is. The red (2306) and green(2304)
large building plates (24 by 24 studs) are both still widely available here
(Australia) although the green was discontinued in this years catalogue. There
are still lots around though, I'm sure they will become widely sought after
eventually, it was a dumb color to discontinue, in my opinion, as the green
(grass?) is by far the most useful in my opinion. Or maybe there is a method
to their madness!
For some reason, there has never been any other color available seperately,
(except in the sets themselves, and here you get a wide variety, including
terrain.
However, in the 1991 catalogue there was a set of red and green smaller
plates (2303, 6 by 12 studs), In the 1990 catalogue, there is a red set of 6
by 12 studs (2301)both these are pretty hard to come by by themselves, but are
still included in some sets.
All of the above is Australian information, if anyone has info which adds to
this let me know, I'd like some other colors myself. (Did they ever do blue or
yellow plates seperatly does anyone know?)
Etoys has white large plates for $14.50 last time I looked, don't know where
they came from, but they could be handy.
Well you probably didnt expect a brief history of Duplo plates, if yours is
any other color, size, shape, let us all know :-)

Rachel
