Indeed, nothing new, but very well and convincingly put.
It's been said "no use in complaining 'cause TLG will still produce these
sets, sell them and even we, adult enthousiasts will eventually, gruntingly
buy them anyway."
Well, so far I have managed to boycott all Town Jr. Sets (except for the
first one - big mistake), but it takes some restrain - Normally I would buy
at least all small sets because they don't cost that much. But now it's
become sort of a personal challenge to resist :-) (BTW, I do have a life
besides this)
So in effect, I very literally and deliberately spend less on LEGO because
of Town Jr.
And in this perspective, 1997 and 1998 were fairly easy; just ignore all
Town sets. But now with juniorization gradually infecting other themes, it's
becoming harder to draw the line...
Still in good humour,
Eric

I want to have a good old rant to get this off my chest. Basically it's a Town Jr. Rant (...) (26 years ago, 14-Jan-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
