Hey TLG,
While I was checking out the selection of Lego at my local Target, a mom struck
up a conversation with me over her disappointment that there was only one pink
basic building tub that she could get for her daughter. She said that her
daughter was in a class with lots of boys who were into Lego and she wanted some
girly Lego (hello, hot pink!) for her own.
I gave the mom a brief rundown of TLG's history with girls' sets like Belville,
Scala and Fairy Tales, particularly their absence on store shelves in almost
every retail store I've ever seen. However, I also told her that she could find
much more girls stuff on the Lego website.
I also described how TLG has been through some very drastic restructuring lately
and finally showed a profit again. I opined that this return to profitability
would hopefully mean that more girls sets might appear on the shelves in the
future.
Just thought that I'd pass this little story along!
