A "what I want in Mindstorms 3.0" thread comes up about every six months. It's about time for another one, but I'm glad to see it has a different twist. Are you suggesting they put the RCX & other electronics in a new box with new (different) parts & a new constructopedia? Or are you suggesting a box without the electronics? There are many books available that provide step-by-step instructions, and other books that offer building ideas. Also, you can buy the above sets (crane, forklift, motorbike...) to get the extra parts. So, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're suggesting. This sounds like a VERY interesting idea, and I'm sure it's the kind of thing LEGO would be interested in doing. And, if they're not, there are plenty of AFoLs who would contribute to such an idea. I really think the Pneumatic/RCX tie in set would be good - with all existing parts, items in the constructopedia on building Switches which can be motorized with Lego, a nice number of tanks, cylinders and valves and a simple old Light and Sound (...) What I am suggesting is either: A new RIS 3.0 with new constructopedia and parts but same electronics. And an upgrade kit (like the one that went from the 1.0 to the 1.5) containg the new parts and constructopedia. OR A new kit with new parts and (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dear-lego)
