Dear Lego,
I can guess that the Lego Group has probably heard the old rant by now of Adult
Fans of Lego and Adult Lego Enthusiasts who would love very much so to partake
of the new Viking Lego line here in North America. Yes, we have been told that
the reason why the Dinosaur Attack line was released here and the Viking line
released in Europe was due to what the market would support: North American
children would prefer dinosaurs, and European children would prefer Vikings. And
yes, this is probably true.
However, my request is not to ask anything extravagant, or so I hope, but
instead to ask for TLG to make available on the Lego shop at home the Viking
line for the benefit of the children and adults who are loved enthusiasts of
Castle or would love to be enthusiasts of Viking.
I realize that there is already the Knights Kingdom on the market here in North
America and available at Shop at Home. Please understand, I am not faulting Lego
in any way nor criticizing. I applaud all that Lego has done, except for the
color change, and support Lego in its goals.
My own interest is indeed not enough to support any market change as my interest
is in Castle, but more specifically, other cultures of that same time period. I
started with Castle, and when the Ninja line came out it gave me great ideas of
other cultures around the world that were contemporary with medieval Europe such
as the Arab world, the Swahili coast, Zimbabwe, etc. Again, with what Lego
already provides, I was able to take my imagination there and build accordingly.
So, when getting sneak peaks of the Viking line, I have to admit that I saw
possibilities. I can imagine that there are other Castle enthusiasts who are no
different.
So, for my own sake and for the sake of other Lego Castle enthusiasts young and
young at heart, I ask if it is possible for Lego to provide the Viking line
products on the Shop at home web site.
Now, of course, I really do not have an understanding of what is involved in
making the request possible and if it involves a great deal of resources and
work, and thus the reason why it has not been done yet, then I will understand.
Thank you,
-Avery
