(A lot...)

Oh Mel, there just aren't enough of us to fill the space... only about 30 or so
by the last Roll Call :(  So no Brickfest-type event for us unless we get
more... and probably no interest from official dudes either :(

Hey, the Danish fan group is having their first Brickfest type event next month
for about the same amount of people. Not trying to start a competition or
anything, just sayin....
What?  Denmark is getting their act together?  We must beat them!  Aussies
Unite! :P

And United we are.... (are we? ;)) - about time Denmark had one... after all
they have a Legoland!

Anyway, Denmark does have the advantage of being smaller than Tasmania... For
national events, tyranny of distance is important ;)

:)

So what do you mean, no interest from official dudes? I'm official, and I'm
interested! But really, who cares? You do what you do because you love it, not
because of what we think... right?

Too right, we don't give a rat's what you think...
Though any help is much appreciated :P

Of course it is... it's quite possible for us to have a great show happening, if
the right sort of ideas and organisation were put together and not just some
rather large in-ya-garage type meeting of other LEGO fans... But not just ideas
etc from the fans but also the companies that deal with LEGO and promote it
etc...

So how do you spread the message?  Well, I think public displays are the >>only
way, stuff like the train shows.  Are there more/other ways we can show our
skillz off to the general public?  Any other venues that would like a Lego
display?  No idea :P

Displays are terrific, of course, and you don't have to do huge ones. I know
tons of groups that do small 2 person displays as well as large, all club
displays.

What about getting the word out via other Australian community sites? For
instance, if you think that comic book fans in AUS would be interested, jump on
a discussion board and point them to your Web site.

Right, hitting the search engines now.

Or drop flyers in hobby shops, local toy stores, college campuses, etc.

OK, enough of my butting in now. :)
Hey, butt in all you want mate :D

LOL... just don't headbutt.

I'truth, I would like to see any/all of this happen as much as anyone... I will
devote some brain cells to the matter :D

Good! we needs lots of positive energy for this... keep those cells rotating and
multiplying ;)

(...) Hey! Our LUG was formed only last year June the 7th... But our club did go to LEGOLAND last october! ;) (...) If only you knew...! Actually it´s hard enough to get people to go from one end of the country to the other. Yes, even in Denmark... (...) (21 years ago, 29-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.events)
