Dear LEGO,

I would like to suggest a different approach to the system line, a modular
castle set. The LEGO Company follows a fairly standard approach to the
system line. You have your low cost entry sets, a range of mid-cost sets,
and then one top of the line high cost set.

If you produced a castle system line that encouraged expandability such as
the Trains and kept the costs of these sets lower you would satisfy the
demands from the adult LEGO enthusiast as well as younger users.

The Flying Ninja’s Fortress-#6093 is an existing example of a somewhat
modular set. We had several assembly options of the sections as they were
anchored together with pins. I actually bought two of these sets and put
them together following the existing format of the set.

To throw out a new example it could be the Great Wall of China line. You
have individual sets that are Wall sections, Tower sections, and Gate
sections with several supplemental sets to create the Asian flavor of the line.

Each set has instructions for two build variations for example:
-Wall Set-a long low wall or a shorter high wall.
-Gate Set-two gates side by side or a first entry gate with a small yard and
a secondary       gate entry.
-Tower Set-a flush wall set tower or a corner tower.

There could be several accessory type sets, small guardhouses, hitching
posts and the like for horses, mini-figs, flags and pennons, cannon mounts,
interior walkways for the walls, etc. I could go on but I think this
illustrates the concept.

Once the basic wall sections are designed the sets could be finished off
from a customers existing LEGO collection or from perhaps a choice of two or
three different themed castles (European, Asian, Mythical) to place within
the walls.

The ability to combine these modular sets in any number allows the LEGO
enthusiast to expand and customize their castle, fortress, or walled
village. I could also see non-castle fans wanting the walls for perhaps a
train layout, a walled garden and other personal creations.

Thanks for listening.
