Dear LEGO,

Can we ever expect any more *LEGO* Sensors for the Mindstorms series ?

Ditto on this.  A better level of support for existing products would be
nice a well - given that too many Mindstorms programs blow up under the now
standard Windows XP.  Ironic, but it seems that the users on Lugnet are more
on top of things than the "supposed" support people at TLC.  One can't help
but wonder if TLC is gradually letting the whole Mindstorms Concept fade
into oblivion, bit by bit, as they have yet to figure out how to really
market it effectively.

I was quite disappointed in the demise of RDS.  As noted previously, I've
found it to be perfect for a grade 4/5 Intro to Robotics course.  I'm now
hit with "Where can I buy this?" from students and parents and have to
answer "You can't."  Well, at least I've accumulated a sufficient supply to
last a bit.  Too bad though - the Middle School Tech teachers were writing a
grant request to buy a dozen - which they now can't find (and I', not giving
mine up).

I have been disappointed in the course of events with Mindstorms, rejoicing
only in the deep discounts offerred by the big box toy stores on this line -
again NOT the best place to sell this - or any "educational" product.  Intel
found that out with their "Play!" line of digital video, microscopes and
such.  Score those for $29 - down from $99 (you can find them next to the
still remaining Droid Developer sets - also at $29 - after two dozen I
really can't justify any more).

Again, I really think the Mindstorms concept has real possibilities but it
is hard to stay enthusiastic when one has the gut feeling that Lego is
letting it die a slow lingering death or relegating it all to the DACTA rear
lot.

I will confess to being VERY pleasantly surprised with the new PITSCO
catalog - I can now FINALLY buy gears and other necessities in meaningful
bulk. For those that haven't ordered a catalog - DO SO NOW!!!!!!    The web
site still has old descriptions and lacks the catalog's updates.  While the
bulk gears ARE backordered (a massive run on the limited supply I expect),
I'll wait.  It's a start.  Now about plates and beams........

I understand the general sense of wanting *Lego* parts and accessories. But they simply aren't available. And as far as I can tell, from all too brief communications with TLC, you won't be seeing them any time soon. I am personally very keen on the (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jan-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Dear LEGO, Can we ever expect any more *LEGO* Sensors for the Mindstorms series ? This is nothing new, what I'm asking, but I just thought of giving it another try, because my son's starting to be interested in robotics too (because of dad's LEGO (...)
