 Dear LEGO / 3402 (-10)
  Re: Bulk Wish List

(...) That would be my fault. I stopped maintaining the page, despite the occasional requests I would get to update it. I'll start maintaining the page again, so if you have requests, please do mail them to me at catena@xnet.com :) (...) (URL) sorry (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) They could put the new-new stuff in the catalog, with blurbs like "Available September 1st!". Seems like they do that already, sometimes. But Maybe I've misremembering... Steve (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) No need to apologize, you make a good point. (...) My guess, and it is only that, is that since the catalog only comes out a limited number of times during the year, there are many products that are released "in between" catalog printings. (...)   Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

This reply will probably sound much more snotty than I intend it to, so my most humble apologies in advance. I mean this as a serious commentary. (...) If they are new then, shouldn't they *definitely* be in the catalog? Isn't that the whole reason (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Sure enough they aren't. Which is why I got confused. My apologies. :) I think any brick that isn't overly-specialized is a nice brick. As I've said before and I will say again: LEGO = bricks (...) Why did the put the "less-LEGO-like" ones in (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) I don't think that is the case. If anything, they may be too new to be in the catalog. I just started seeing them in stores a short while ago, and most stores near me still carry the whole line. Henry (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Ah... my mistake and my apologies. I made the assumption that because this thread started with a comment on the recent Shop At Home catalog that the dinosaurs were the ones in that book. (1371, 6719, 6720, 6721, 6722). I agree, the 7000-7003 (...) (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) I think Frank is referring to sets 7000-7003, the "young" dinosaur series. Other than the heads and tails, the bulk of the body is made up of bricks, mostly slope pieces. Henry (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) What Frank is talking about are the smaller Dinosaurs sets- (URL) mostly have bricks with a few dino specific pieces thrown in (like the neck, head and tail). Hope that helps, ~Nathan (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) It wasn't in the catalog, but if you check online, you will find a few small dinosaurs made from bricks. One has some nice parts to it too. (...) This encourages creativity? How? That was the original question. Jonathan D. (23 years ago, 23-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)
