I recently picked up a 7146 TIE Fighter and to my horror discovered my very
first misprinted part - the stormtrooper helmet had grey smears over the
front where the 2 left hand grey blobs had been misplaced and then something
handled that area. I rang up LEGO Customer Service who then gave me the
number for the Replacement Parts Dept (for some reason on Shop@Home the
European number is listed the Customer Service one for both depts in the
Your Satisfaction section so it took me an extra phone call), and the person
I spoke to was extremely helpful. That was on Friday. This morning a small
package arrived from Denmark containing not only the stormtrooper helmet but
also a Darth Maul Minifig Keyring!

I had a similar problem with my stormtrooper helmet, but instead of rushing
me a new helmet with something like a key-ring, they sent me a padded
envelope with nothing inside but a folded padded envelope to send back my
misprinted helmet in.  When they recieved it I got a helmet in the mail a
few days later.

I'm certainly not complaining but I wanted the part within a certain time
(the weekend so I could show my stepbro who is star wars/lego crazy) but all
I got before that was an empty padded envelope so I ended up showing him two
weeks later.

I mean, I got a new helmet, I'm not complaining, but if I knew that was
going to happen, I'd have just have exchanged the set at the store.
