I don't pretend to understand how the Lego comapny works...
It makes sense that TLC would release soccer sets in Australia and Europe
first due to it's popularity. I can understand the tour de France promos
being more of a European thing also, since it is hosted there...
However, I do find it infuriating that I had to get the Kabaya Ninja sets
from Japan, Malaysia, and Australia...
I could only imagine they have some rationale about increasing their market
share in countries where their market penetration is below projections or
because the large sets are prohibitively expensive...maybe it's a way to
test market new items in smaller less or more competitive markets or dumping
"mistakes"or overstock...
I would love to hear Brad's answer someday (that's right he said he would be
participating here regularly...hmmm...I won't hold my breath)
I guess it's a trade off, here in the US I get a shot at 75% off Star Wars
or $40 Trains once in awhile and the rest of the world gets cool little
promos...I imagine those that are miffed at the comparitively low Lego
prices in the US can take solace in getting a wider variety of "collectable"
and promotional sets...
