Mr B.Justus
Dear Sirs,
Please accept the follwing sugestion for a new range.
Range Name: Lego(R) Dinosurs (preliminary).
Description : A range of more detailed Lego models of dinosours and
dinasour skeletons than present in the current Adventurers
theme.
Target market: Older children (7-12)? for Dinosour models and
current technic range(8-16) for the dinosour skeletons
(as these would be built using technic parts.)
This range is also aimed at AFOL fans.
Justification: Dinsours have been very popular with children for many
years and are likley to remain so. The current
inclusion of dinosours within the current Lego(R)
range would seem to indicate this.
Previous Items Notable :
Wodden slot built dinosour skeltons have been around for some time.
However these are in some case fiddly to put together and are not
adpabtable(ie they need to be glued.).
Also the very popular Zoids (later Zoids2) range was very
popular. Whilst not strictly dinosours the similarites are very clear.
again zoids whilt capabale of being 'assembled' they were again not very
adaptable in the way Lego(R) bricks are.
Some dinsouar have been built using Lego(R) bricks already by indivdual fans.
most notable are those displayed at Cragio-lego's dino lego web site.
Suggestions for possible sets:
Obviosuly there could be as many sets as there are dinosours! but I
would recomend that Stegosours be considered for a smaller set in the
($10-15) range A full large and detailed T-Rex Skeleton would be a faily
large set in the($30-40) range by comparison. (NB The lowered price on some
recent large sets is upprising(namely the Football range.)
Possible Range Extensions:
As stated , there are many types of dinosaur.
Also given that many of the parts used to uild Mindstorms robots are
Technic parts, there is the possibilty of a Dino - RCX kit or simmilar. I
seem to rmember a T-Rex being one of the models that could be built with the
technic control centre (an older set). Having a T-RCX(sic) would In my view
be a very fun model.
I look forward to hearing your comments on this suggestion ethier via Lugnet
or by my contact details listed at the end of this message.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Farlie.

| (...) skeletons (...) <snip> (...) <snip> One other item notable that you may have stayed away from is that one of TLC major competitors has had a Dino series already. I'm not certain how well it did, but I've got all the sets. (...) Rich -- Have (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
