A pair of new newsgroups lugnet.announce.brickshelf and lugnet.db.scans have
just been created. For background information on how this came to be,

CHARTER/PURPOSE

lugnet.announce (group and hierarchy):
General-interest announcements to the community (breaking news about
products, releases, contests, events, and sites, etc.); also,
important LUGNET information (new features, services, scheduled
downtime, etc.); NOTE: the following are not appropriate: auction
announcements, new-user introductions, questions, and test-postings.
-> lugnet.announce.brickshelf (group):
Announcements pertaining to Kevin Loch's BrickShelf.com site.
lugnet.db.* (hierarchy):
Database and data-oriented groups: Set/theme listings, set
inventories, etc.
-> lugnet.db.scans (group):
Requests for, announcements of, and discussions about scanned images
of official LEGO® publications for personal or archival and
preservation purposes: building instruction booklets, catalogs, box
flaps, other miscellaneous publications, etc.
