Hi Pedro, or better: [ Ola Pedro, ]
This is the readme file that was on a zip file that I downloaded from
Brickshelf a long time ago ( when brickshelf had zip files of building
instructions and catalogs ). However, I don't know if all rules are still valid.
hope that this can help you,
regards, or better: [ abracos, ]
zanette.

*NOTICE* *THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LEGO(R) SITE* *NOTICE*
This is an unofficial, fan created site for the sharing
of Lego(r) instruction scans with other enthusiasts. It is my
intention to comply with the relevant suggestions on the
officital Lego(r) website (http://www.lego.com/info/fair.asp).
At this time I am limiting the material on this site to instruction scans
for sets which are not currently available through normal retail outlets.
If you wish to obtain instructions for sets which are not out of print,
you should buy the set or the original instructions.
I reserve the right to reject any material submitted to for this site for
any reason.
***
by uploading, you agree to claim no rights to your submitted
materials, and that all copyrights for your submitted materials belong
to the LEGO Company.

Here are the rules for submissions:
1. Scan at a reasonable resolution. Anything greater than 1024 pixels
wide is too big (except for catalogs which may require higher resolution
to resolve fine details/text. 75dpi is usually the best choice
for instructions, but 100-150dpi is suggested for catalogs.
2. Save images in JPEG format using reasonable quality setting (75%).
Do not use the progressive JPEG format. Do not use the gif format.
3. Do not upload scans for current sets. This means sets released
in 1997 or later. The exception to this rule is "Promotional"
sets (the Soccer Stadium for example) which are not available
through normal retail outlets. Any catalogs, regardless of age
are acceptable as long as they comply with #5.
4. Please do upload scans for sets already online if yours represent
a material improvement over the existing scans (including
image size/file size, image quality).
5. Do not upload black and white scans, or altered scans, except
for "little brother" crayon annotations of course :) Do not
attempt to color black and white scans yourself.
6. Use our naming convention. This saves me alot of time
renaming files. Our naming convention is:
xxxx-yy.jpg for sets with less than 100 pages
xxxx-yyy.jpg for sets with 100+ pages.
if there are less than ten pages, still use the xxxx-yy.jpg format.
please use lower case on filenames.
7. Please include a text file (xxxx.txt) along with the scans with
any relevant information about the set (set name, your name,
piece count on box, copyright year on box/instructions etc.)
see http://www.brickshelf.com/scans/8000/8485/8485.txt as an example
8. Please rotate images so they can be read before saving as jpeg.
9. If your scans don't appear online after a week or so,
send me an email.
10. Check the "Missing" file for missing files.
11. Check the "NotDone" file for scans which are missing substantial
portions, and are therefore not online yet.
12. When scanning stickers, include a ruler so they can be reproduced to scale
You can submit scans for this site in several ways:
(please use ftp if possible)
- anonymous ftp to ftp://ftp.brickshelf.com and upload in the incoming dir
- email the scans directly to me (submit@brickshelf.com)
- email me the url where I can retreive them from your server
This site is also available via ftp at:
ftp://ftp.brickshelf.com
