Good question ... I don't think it's an easy one to answer though ;)
I'm going to assume that your golems are non- magical - once brought
to life they are independent of magic to keep going. Am I right?
Ok ... so now that this is taken care of - magic on the Isle. We're
going to say that the mist has the same effect on Magic as fog does
on your visibility. It reduces both the field and the usefulness of
magic. Teleporting is out of the question, as is most of your "big"
magic. As the mist recedes inward, your magical abilities will become
partially restored.
This is still a very vague area, and by no means is everything I said in
stone ... yet :) I hope my fog analogy is clear (no pun intended).
