The other night I wanted a fluted pillar. One where the lines run vertical!
Messing around with my Belville parts box I hit upon the following:
Take a 6-sides flower, the kind that come with Ages 2-5 sets, or Milimy sets.
(Classic Set 4215 on clearance at Target has 4 of them, if you don't mind the
rest of that set.) The idea is to stick 1x8 plates on the petals--the flower
petals are the right thickness to snap between 2 studs. Use a second flower at
the other end! In between use exactly 4 round 1x1 bricks. Use a 1x1 round plate
on top and a 2x2 round plate on the bottom. If you follow this recipe, you get a
6-sided pillar with the undersides of the plates facing out.
Like it? Hate it?
These pillar modules can be stacked snugly, or mounted on 2x2 brick pedestals.
I'm just starting to work with them on a new palace.

| Me and a friend were discussing lego themes when we began to think about a roman theme. Stacking white colored barrels would make a good pillar. I'm not sure if you can stack the large barrels, but if you can that would be even better. NICK :-L (24 years ago, 16-Jul-00, to lugnet.castle)
