I love the Yellow Castle myself.  As far as using Yellow on a large scale I
say why not!  I personally have more Gray now than any other color thanks to
a bunch of Gray Service Packs I bought last year.

Just out of curiosity, how many gray packs did you buy?

I bought around 50 of the service packs last year.  Which is 700 2x4 bricks
alone.  Unfortunately there are not as many 1xX bricks in the packs so I am
running low on 1xX's now.  I still have a lot of 2xX's though so my limiting
factor for the Castle wall at the moment are the Gray Slope's and inparticular
the inside and outside gray slope's.

I think any color done right would look great.  Of course Black does not
photograph well so I try and stay away from that but otherwise I think any
color looks right in LEGO mainly because its LEGO.  Those colors might not
look right in the real world but this is a LEGO world and Bright colors just
seem to be a part of it.

Thanks kinda what I was thinking, too.  This will be a peacefull, "good" city,
so I think the bright, cheery yellow will work.  I will prolly use black and
blue in my evil fortress.  Very far down the road for now...

Sounds very cool.  I think you have a good plan working.

I have also been working on building my gate and wall for my city.  I had not
meant to publish these pictures yet but if you are interested you can see my
gate here.  (This is just a directory for unpublished pictures.  Oops now my
secret is out!!  :-).

Very nice!  Looks imposing, and strong!  I really like the thin band of red in
the wall.  Nice touch.

That's what I was going for.  I plan on using that band of red in my story line
although I am not exactly sure how yet although I am thinking of calling it the
"Blood line".

The concept for mine is very similar, but I envision more towers and spires in
mine.  My city will be at the top of it's prosperity, and be overconfident in
it's safety.  Little do they know that the evil the ravaged the world not so
long ago is rekindling...

Your idea's sound great.  I can't wait to see some pictures and watch your
story progress.

I think we sould rename this the "Eric Thread" only Eric's allowed :-).

Just kidding of course.

(...) Wow! That's a lot of gray. I have to believe that out of the 7 1200 piece tubs I have, I should be able to come up with plenty of yellow for the time being. I also plan on trading a lot of the bulk colors I don't need no for more yellow. (...) (...) (25 years ago, 21-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)
