The Wizards Labyrinth

I double-checked against the photos minus the castle, and yes, there is a route
past all four statues to the center. But in a purely maze-theoretic sense, its
not a complex labyrinth -- e.g. theres only one wrong turn on the route between
Statues #3 and 4. OTOH its a challenge to fit complexity onto a single 32x32
baseplate, and this solution looks good.
I like the statue in the pond, and the one atop the hill -- but the latter
doesnt show up as well. This is an unavoidable problem with large masses of
single-color brick; contours just dont show well in photos.
Further on texturing -- theres a division of opinion regarding the studliness
of models -- when should studs be avoid by use of SNOT or tiles? In this
particular case, I think the studs work well for the hedges, but the castle
itself should be smoothed out.
At a slightly larger scale, this would make a nice premise for a brik film. (You
cant fit a camera down these routes, and an overhead shot of a 1x1 round
walking them would look very cramped.) Or a couple of different scales, for
wide-angle vs. close-up shots.
