  MOC: Desert Landscape

Hello@all, today I took myself time to finish my desert landscape and the outcome can be seen here: (URL) there's no english text for each picture, here are the descriptions: 1) Zafar, the desert fortress, early in the morning. 2) The dignitary's (...) (...) Wow, that's beautiful. Random thoughts: --I really like the black and tan combination on the castle. It's a very striking color scheme. --That's a whole lot of purple turbans you have there. --The kaadus, um camels, are really loaded down. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

amazingly cool! i like the story! and also how you really managed to capture the essence of a psuedo-arabian world.. but i must ask, how many harry potter sets did you have to buy to get all those turbans? it seems like they're twenty or more. i'm (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Good work, Rene! I especially like the flying carpet and the vultures. The dead beast in the desert is a nice touch. Josh (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

I only have one problem with the castle and that is that it's gonna be awful hot with all those black walls.. Also I doubt there would be any materials in a desert area that would lend themselves to being black.. I know that's a small thing when we (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Hello Bruce, (...) Thank you! (...) These were parts of my fake entry to the Creativity Contest last year: (URL)I'd love to see this story continue. It will, "when" is the question only :-) Leg Godt! René (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Hi Lenny, (...) Well, I have 10 of them, but since I'm running the german auction site for new LEGO elements, it's very easy to get the parts I want for my creations. I wish there would be more different colours of the turbans, I hope TLC will (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Hi René! (...) That would be nice, indeed! And ...hum... Playmobil already released an "Arabia" line 20 years ago..... Bye Jojo (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

Excellent work, René! Love the striped SNOT-sided tents at the oasis, and the two-barrel trough in image 17. It's great to see enough turbans to actually look like a group of Arabs. Here's hoping LEGO will come out with an Arabian line. It would (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Thank you, now I found the site where I got the ideas for them. Bob Easterbrooks built some vultures. He used the black capes as wings, so his vultures are looking much better. Bob Easterbrooks Miner's End: (URL) Godt! René (22 years ago, 1-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)
