Hi all, but especially Jon and Tamyra,

I've been thinking about pipes, spurred by the discussion here and also the
needs of my next Tolkien chapter, and came up with a couple of ideas.

(Jon will notice that I also recently got a couple of those Scala accessory
packs :) )

In part these were inspired by Kotoro Ono's use of the minifig tools to make
really cool weapons:

One design uses the minifig tool box wrench:

and puts one or two 1x1 round plates in.
The second pipe was inspired by Tamyra's idea but taking into account Jon's
difficulty.  I took the base of the lever piece:
http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/298
and jammed a minifig screwdriver into it:

I was really happy with how this turned out.
You may have previously see me use a hammer for Gandalf's pipe:

Also on Jon's idea:

I tried modifying that by adding a lightsaber hilt to make the stem longer.
It looked okay, but too big and fancy (as I only have silver ones--it might
be better with the gray ones from the AT-ST)--not the sort of pipe that a
traveller would carry.  I might use that one for Bilbo at Bag End.

WOOWOO Bruce! thank you, you solved the problem of how they can grip it! (offers you a big hug!) if you don't want that.. a hearty handshake! I'm glad I didn't finally just throw those tool wheels away.. hmmm now to find where they got buried... (...) (22 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.castle)

Hi all, I've added to the chapter "Many Partings" in my Tolkien project. (URL) on Tim Deering's design: (URL) got a couple of more pipes: (URL) in the second picture. Chromed lightsaber hilts worked great because in the text it says that Bilbo gives (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)
