I see that the Guarded Inn is designed to be connected up with other sets to
presumably form some very large castle. What other sets were originally
intended to be connected up in this way? Was there some suggested order, or
did you just connect them up as you fancied?

Dear Kerry,

It's goes like this:
there were 4 big castle that could open:
6080 - king's castle (1984)
6073 - knight's castle (1984)
6074 - black falcon fortress (1986)
6085 - black monarch castle (1988)

6081 - king's mountain fortress (1990) could not be open but still
could connected to the others

there were 3 lego set made from a wall (made from 4-10 Lego walls that could
close the castle's when they were open) & a war machine.

6061 - siege tower (1984)               for 6080 (also fit for 6073)
6062 - battering ram (1987)             for 6074
6059 - defensive wall & catapult (1990) for 6085

a part from that there were the town shops:

6041 - armor shop (1986)
6040 - the blacksmith shop (1984)
6067 - the guarded inn (1986)

I believe they all made to be connected to 6080 (although they fit well with
6073/6074).

6085 was made from black wall's so it had 6034 - the ghost tower (1990)

all the instruction available ofcourse on www.brickshelf.com

since 1990 the following castle's were made on a big mountain plate
(except 6097 - night's lord castle that could be open in a differnt way
not connected to the others)
so it was over

Love Lego, Love Castle
We live to build

Having spent the heyday of the castle years in my Dark Ages, I'm making a belated foray into Castle. I have made a couple of the older sets using brickshelf instructions (with a lot of substitution of pieces) and I have now (finally) acquired one of (...) (23 years ago, 23-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)
