The idea of keeping the Sabboth (Sunday/Saturday) is an ancient church
tradition. I think it holds a lot of merrit regardless of your religious
beliefs. While growing up, my family always had "Family Day" every Sunday.
My brother and I weren't allowed to get together with any friends that day;
we did something as a family. We might visit relatives, go to a ball game,
go on a picnic, whatever. But it was a guarenteed time that we had to
together.
It is sad that so many families don't spend quality time together anymore.
Numerous friends of mine are in families that sit in front of the the TV for
dinner, or never eat as a family. It is quite sad, to me.
But, then again, I don't do much of a great job for relaxing on Sunday
myself. I am always busy getting work done and catching up on errands. So
maybe I'm a hypocrite.
