Site Updated: Castle Stage 3 Photos

Title says it all. I've updated my site with pictures of the next section of my castle project (URL) a few of the photos are subpar, I'll use a tripod next time. (20 years ago, 3-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Giant Demonic Armor!

Well, This is my second attempt at bridging the gap between castle and mecha(an unlikely combination, i know!) and i hope that i have done better this time. With my last castle-mecha i was told that it seemed too mechish for castle, so i tried to (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jun-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.castle, lugnet.announce.moc)

Re: High-Res pictures of the new Knights Kingdom Figs (both minifig and large versions)

(...) Ok, got the McD set today - the slopes in there are exactly what BL calls Violet. its the same color as on the NBA figs, the 8x8 plate and the HP door. If I am not mistaken this McD set came out long before any of these parts did, so thats (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Coko castle set on Ebay

(URL) you go.> I don't know the seller, and I won't be bidding. Coko has a few sets very similar to this. I own one of them, but I'm not sure if it's this one. In any case, elements of note are a bunch of 1x4 and 1x2x8 arch bricks, as well as a (...) (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Where do these green hoods come from?

(...) They don't really look like spraypaint to me. Perhaps someone has an irregular source for parts. I've heard of some people getting random stuff from the floors of the LEGO studios for stuff like brown antenaes etc. But I dunno. -Lenny (20 years ago, 1-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: TOWER CASTLE

(...) Thanx.... glad you like it.... the reason I used white not black is that real Norman tower castles dont use black corner stones... When I went to see Dover Castle and the Tower of London in England, they have a white corner stones... I (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Announcing the MOCC

Yea big, yea high, four walls, minifig scale, not 20th century. What was too complicated about the rules? (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Announcing the MOCC

(...) A castle competition sounds cool but there are wayyyyyy too many rules for something that is supposed to fun. Granted I’m not a castle builder but I highly suggest simplifying the rules a bit if you want people to consider building something (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Is this for real?

(...) Sorry to reply to my own post but. . . look at the peice holding up the flame on the left on the big castle. is that blue stuff paint a reflection or what? weird. (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Is this for real?

(...) I always thought that the idea of Dublo was fun toys for young kids that didn't have small parts that could be swallowed, or poke kids in the eye. these sets looks like they have parts that could be swallowed or poke kids in the eye. of course (...)   Re: Is this for real?

There are enough obviously real Duplo pieces in there (horse, pot, 2*2 and 4*2 bricks, various plates, sloped bricks, ladder, ball) for me to think this is probably real, and as Mark pointed out the figs in the picture do compare well with the new (...)   Where do these green hoods come from?

I don't remember ever seeing these before. What sets do these green hoods come in? (URL) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Is this for real?

(...) It wouldn't shock me. But, if you look at the castle front, it is 32 studs (regular) across the front of the tan baseplate. That'd make it something like 48 studs across the whole front. That seems quite big to me. (mind you, it is a $130-150 (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Announcing the MOCC

My Own Castle Competition. We are hereby happy to announce the official castle-building competition for the Castle Room at BrickFest 2004. The competition is pretty straightforward, but a lot can be done with it. It is the hope of the BrickFest 2004 (...)   Re: TOWER CASTLE

Awesome! Terrific details there. I guess I might have preferred the highlights/details in black rather than white, but that's a matter of personal taste rather than building skill. Would love to see more pic of course, is there an interior? Magnus (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Is this for real?

(...) One of the things that made me question it are the figs. Those are NOT Duplo figs as we know them.... BUT then I saw the new Duplo sets on S@H - well see for yourself: (URL) -- check the fig standing. So it looks like Lego is changing MORE (...)   Re: Is this for real?

(...) Yes, and how big the margin would be. It could quite easily be real DUPLO, designed to compete with the Fisher-Price Castle. As far as its not having "LEGO" on the studs, most of them look hollow as DUPLO tends to be; furthermore, those (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.castle)
