Alternatively, I recommend that, if you're going to start with L3P, as I
did, your best bet is simply to render the model straight off the page:
l3p model.dat
and then play around with the POV file within POV-Ray. I'm not especially
conversant with all the ins and outs of POV-Ray scene language, but I've
found that having to muddle through the tough stuff, while slower (as Jake
correctly points out) has benefitted me in understanding POV-Ray's use.
But, as they say, YMMV.
