Hi all,
Would anyone be interested in a raytracing remix challenge? My idea is to
provide a relatively simple MPD file and see what all us raytracers and
renderers can do with it.
Furthermore, I'd like it if the techniques used were described in each response
so that they can be incorporated into other peoples renders or just used as a
learning tool for people trying to learn a bit about raytracing. At the end of
the challenge I would be willing to make an FTX page for .cad.raytracing with
details about the challenge and all the entrants.
Please let me know if you are interested and, if enough people are, I will make
a more formal post sometime in the near future. Also, let me know if you would
prefer it to be a competition or just a show and tell.
Tim

I have some ideas: - I'd like this to have little or no threshold for people to join in. - A competition would be fun, but that results in the need to have a jury, a deadline, rules and so forth. - I think that everyone (...)
