Hi Michael;
I get the same problem. When I drop a new part in the "list of parts
in the model" it will show up at 0,-8,0 (or close to it depending on
the size of the part- the "y" value will change, but x,z=0).
I have tried selecting the "part which position should be inherited"
by clicking on it in one of the windows and by clicking on it in the
"list of parts in the model" windows as well. Neither seems to work.
Royce
ps The way get around this is to drop my new part in the window where
the view angle is "Top" and then using the "Enter Pos. + Rot..."
button to change the Y value.

| I guess it's somehow strange to use ... previous part is the part currently selected when you insert the new one :-/ so please try selecting the part which position should be inherited ... then add the new part by dragging it to the "list of parts (...)
