Michael,

I recently noticed a couple of things in the newest version of MLCad, which behave differently from the previous versions. I hope you’ll consider changing these back to the way they behaved previously.

I was working with a file that had a lot of mockup parts in the same directory, so that MLCad could find all of the parts. Then, I moved the model to a different directory, and re-opened it to make a few more changes. MLCad then couldn’t find those mockup parts, but I chose to “Continue Loading”, and made my changes anyway. Then I saved the file. Now, in the past, all those files that weren’t found would still be in the .ldr file, but with the newest version, they were all replaced with “Unknown”. There’s now no way to fix this except redoing the file from scratch.

I also don’t like how hiding a part now writes “0 MLCAD HIDE ” to the file. I frequently have LDView open when I’m working on parts or models, and I need to hide something in MLCad in order to reach some other part that I need to edit. However, I still want all the parts to be visible in LDView. Could you add an option to disable this?

Thanks, Andy Westrate
