I was wondering:
Why the change in file type?

Gary
The change for the file-type was requested from many people and got an
official ok from ldraw-org.

Since many programs register for ".dat" they always fighted egainst each
other. With LDR this should stop in the future.

Michael

Will the file change effect programs like L2P and L3P and other "*.* to
*.dat" programs that convert to or from dat?

i mean, could i still use l3p to conert the new file type to pov files, or
will some one now need to make a .ldr to .pov converter program?

The .ldr file format WILL NOT work with l3pao Ver 1.3.26 (latest version). You can select the file by choseing to see all files but it will NOT open it. Currenltly the only way to use MLCAD v2.11 with l3pao is to save yoru file as a .dat file. =( (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
