If you know emacs, try Fredrik Glöckner's emacs ldraw mode. Even if you don't
know emacs, he has good instructions at
http://folk.uio.no/fredrigl/technic/ldraw-mode/index.html
The instructions for doing hoses (and bezier curves in general) are about
halfway down at
http://folk.uio.no/fredrigl/technic/ldraw-mode/index.html#bezier
I used it for the hoses on my locomotive
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=6165 took about 10 mins.
