I haven't finished the guide to OMR submissions

Can you finish this ASAP, so that people can start preparing their sets for
the OMR? I would help but on something like this people probobly wouldnt
value my input.

As I think about it, I can bump that up in priority, because by the
time the CD-ROM is ready to be pressed (hopefully in a month or so),
I'd like to be able to put some OMR models in there.  I'm very busy
this week though unfortunately, so we'll have to see.

There is no real standard for storage, though it has been discussed a
perfect solution has not been thought of

What is hte problem with the storage?

Just figuring it out.  I talked to Todd about it some, and if I
remember right:

(correct me Todd if I am mistaken - this was months ago)

ldraw.org will have a submission form to the OMR, where they can input
their LUGNET member number and password to post to Lugnet from that
form.  The posts will go to something like cad.dat.models.sets, where
OMR editors can scoop them up.  Also, people can post directly to
c.d.m.s and the editors will scoop them as well.

The sets could be stored by numbers in a directory structure similar
to Brickshelf.

I do forget how they are to be referenced to from the site.

Also, the entries could link to Brickshelf instruction scans, as well
as Pause database entries (Kevin, Todd?)

-But- at this point I don't have quite the energy, not to mention
time, to tackle a project such as the OMR on my own, and that's how I
feel it will be due to lack of positive response.  The OMR *itself* is
pretty low priority right now to things like the CD and .datFest
planning.

....if you (or anyone) would like to help out, it would go faster :)

I can help if you tell me what to do. If nothing else I have a large
archive of sets ready to format & submit.

I'll email you some more information on what you can do with your sets
to submit (cause its not public yet).  I'll have to think about what
you can do to help the OMR project itself, but I'm sure I can find
some stuff.

Thanks!

-Tim
